How I Work
1
I believe that the goal of therapy is to help people both function and feel better in their daily lives. You may already have a good idea of what that would look like. If you don't, we can define it together. After an initial brief conversation by phone, I will suggest an initial evaluation if I feel I am likely to be able to help you.
2
In that first meeting, you can see how it feels to sit with me and share your thoughts and feelings. You can decide if meeting again feels comfortable for you. If you are comfortable, we will set up another appointment.
3
At the beginning of therapy, we will define the goals you wish to accomplish in our work together. This will help us both see over time if you are getting what you want out of our work together. Goals can be modified over time as our work progresses.
4
The work will progress at your own pace in a supportive and nurturing environment. The reality is, making effective changes can take some time, but I believe your emotional well being and life satisfaction are well worth the investment.
